One of the hardest things for me, before traveling is clearing out the refrigerator. It’s difficult planning meals out with minimal to no leftovers and clearing out all the random things while making sure you have just enough to last you until you leave for your trip. I also like to stock our freezer with a few meals I can heat up once we get back. Unpacking and getting everything put away takes a lot of time so I’ve found it is very convenient to pull something out of the freezer for a few nights when we get back instead of cooking something up myself. I’ll be honest, after taking a vacation from cooking it also takes me a few takes to build the motivation to start it up again!
Before we left for our recent trip to Ireland, I picked up a few of the newLing Ling Fried Rice dishes. There are five new, unique dishes based on authentic Asian inspired recipes from Japan, China, Korea, and Thailand including Yakitori Chicken, Yakiniku Beef, Thai-Style Chicken, Chinese-Style Vegetable, and Bibimbap Beef. There is even a coupon offer for $2 off a box of Ling Ling Fried Rice at any retailer availablehere.
I ended up getting a box of the Thai-Style Chicken and Bibimbap Beef. After living for a year and a half in Korea and visiting Thailand, I am a big fan of those flavors. Ling Ling delivers superior flavor and exceptional taste because of the infusion cooking method. This method means each grain of rice is infused with the Ling Ling signature sauces for amazing flavor in each bite. With their high quality ingredients and no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives I knew I would be getting the taste I remembered from my time in Asia. In fact, I wasn’t able to taste the difference between Ling Ling Fried Rice and a restaurant dish!
Preparing Ling Ling Fried Rice is very easy and depending on your family’s preference you can choose to cook it one of two ways. It’s easy to use the bag it comes in and microwaving it for a softer, more moist texture, or you can cook it in a skillet with a little oil for a crispier texture. I chose the microwave for ease, but plan to try it in a skillet next time I make it. My entire kitchen smelled amazing! I couldn’t wait to eat! In each box, there are two bags of the fried rice. That way you can prepare as much as you need for your family. I made both bags and it was just enough for our small family of 3. It was nice to be able to sit down for a family meal, that tasted delicious, but that I didn’t have to cook! It gave us time together, and by not spending time in the kitchen, I was able to get more things unpacked and washed. Talk about a win-win situation! Ling Ling Fried Rice is definitely something I will be stocking in my freezer in the future for those busy days.
