I think whenever I am asked how I am doing or my family is doing I always respond with, “We are doing well, but it’s been a busy time lately!” Reflecting on it, I wonder if there has been a time when we weren’t busy. With a traveling husband, 2 kids, and a cat to take care of I am amazed I have time to shower and put on normal clothes some days! All that busyness can lead to stress as a parent. So what can you do with that extra time you saved by shopping at PetSmart and using TIDY CATS Free and Clean? Use it to help you de-stress and I am sharing some some of my tips that only take minutes a day! I try to do at least one of these every day to help me relax and have some me-time. You can pamper yourself in just 15 minutes a day, I promise!
Try a face mask
So many of us have a lot of different face masks tucked away in a drawer or cabinet, unused. Why not take some time to yourself and use them to help you destress?! Many face masks only need 10-20 minutes which is the perfect amount of time to help you relax. Don’t forget the added benefit a face mask has of helping your skin look it’s best, too!
Give yourself a hand massage
This seems so simple, but can really help you de-stress. As a busy person, your hands do so many things each day. So treat them right! A 10 minute hand massage with some nice, scented lotion feels so relaxing and helps you unwind at the end of each day. Even better if you can get someone else to give it to you!
Pamper your feet
Don’t forget about your feet! Depending on how much time I have, I love to make a warm epsom salt bath with a few drops of essential oil for my feet. I prefer lavender essential oil as it’s supposed to help you de-stress. I find it so soothing! And then I give myself a little foot massage using shea butter lotion or petroleum jelly and put thick socks on right before bed. Your feet will be so much softer in the morning! It’s an especially nice treat in the winter time.
Cuddle with your cat
With that extra time you aren’t spending shopping for your cat or combating those pesky litter box odors, why don’t you have some quality time with your cat? When I sit down on the couch at the end of the day to watch some television, our cat often times hops up wanting to be pet and sit on my lap. Petting him and giving him soft scratches and seeing how much he loves it, always helps me to de-stress!
