I’ve talked before about my experience and items I ordered from the Shein X line. I found some great items including a darling floral mini skirt, floral midi dress, and some attention-grabbing pink floral pants! All three of those items have been worn and are hanging in my closet ready to be worn again. But some of the items I received I didn’t love quite as much. So I wanted to share a Shein X review overall and the items that I didn’t end up keeping and why.

I don’t typically get babydoll dresses, not that isn’t because they aren’t cute! With my body type, I don’t find them to be flattering. But sometimes I slip up and this dress was so cute on the model I couldn’t resist. Honestly, it is really cute in person. I love the ruffles and contrasting blue stripe at the bottom. And it has a fantastic swing. The only reason I didn’t end up keeping it is because I liked the other items better and didn’t think I would wear it much. Due to the style, it fits on the larger side. The quality is about on par for what you would expect for the price and other Shein items.

This dress had a few issues which led me to not keeping it. First of all, the material wrinkles like crazy. I ironed it right before putting it on, so…..yeah. It would also look so much better on someone with curves and an hourglass figure. Me? Not so much. There is too much volume at the shoulders so the silhouette is all wrong. I should have tried to pull the sleeves down like the model is wearing it. I’m not sure how else to describe it, but it felt too ‘young’.

This floral, prairie style dress is completely fine. I prefer it belted to give myself some shape. It just didn’t speak to me. Nothing about it stood out. So I didn’t end up keeping it because I really try to only keep things I love. The fit is a bit oversized due to the style. I think the price tag is a big higher than typical for similar Shein items, but at $30, it’s still a low price.
Overall, none of the items from the Shein X line I didn’t keep were due to quality or fit issues. I passed on them because of fit or style.
