I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and Valentine’s Day! We typically spend the holiday at home. The girls got Happy Meals (rare treat for them) and watched a movie. That meant we were able to start prepping our meal so Matt and I didn’t eat too late. We got a tres leches cake for dessert. I used to make a red velvet cake, but in recent years I’ve been better about taking advantage of convenient options. I think I put too much pressure on myself to do it all and do it from scratch. That’s just silly! I wasn’t stressed about making sure the dessert was made and was better able to enjoy the night!
Saturday we spent delivering some of Claire’s Girl Scout cookies. That girl worked so hard selling over 200 boxes…and now we need to deliver them all! Haha! We have about half done. Our neighbors were so amazing and welcoming when we went door to door. I’m so thankful we live where we do! Sunday I was able to fit in my distance run. It was a nice day with no wind so I got in 9.5 miles. I have to step up my endurance and pace with the half marathon in 2 months. After my run I got my hair done. There is nothing better than having someone wash and cut your hair! It was long past due, too. Afterwards we all went sledding for a bit. It was Aveline’s first time and definitely won’t be her last. She loved it!
Matt and I have a date night planned in two weeks and are hoping to go into the city for dinner. I’m already thinking about an outfit. I take any chance to dress up!
