Almost Shorts Weather & Confident Twosday Linkup

I hope you all had a nice weekend! Although it was cold last week, we had a nice weekend. I did grocery shopping for the next 2 weeks and Matt worked on putting together the kids’ playset. He finished it up last night and the girls were SO excited! Claire was such a great cheerleader and helper for her dad while he was building. Claire and I signed up for a Virtual 5K to do together and we ran it on Sunday. It was perfect because my hip has been bothering me and so it was nice to do a short run at her speed. Now we just need to get our medals! We chose a baby Yoda themed one, not because we are Star Wars fans, but because it was a cute medal!

As it warms up, I actually prefer wearing shorts with layers or a long sleeve on top instead of a short sleeve top and pants. I think it’s the running I do, but my legs don’t tend to get cold as easily as my arms do. It was nice to pull out these adorable striped shorts from Aventura. These are the first pair I’ve tried from them and I LOVE them! The drawstring can be worn outside or inside the shorts and the striped print is super cute. I’d say they run a bit large so you may want to size down. I paired them with a yellow waffle knit button up. It can be worn tied, tucked, or just loose. I like the versatility. And for some extra punch, I added orange sandals. Aren’t they fun?! Neutral shoes are great closet staples, but a few pairs in print or color can really take your outfit to the next level.
