Dress- Old Navy (similar, similar) // Boots- Espirit via shop in Greenwich (similar, similar) // Tights- Harrods (similar) // Hair pin- Target headband altered by me
This dress definitely got me started on sweater dresses and wearing casual dresses in general. I know it’s totally shapeless, but it’s so comfy and warm. It looks great with a puffer vest, too.
Come to think of it though, these boots started my boot obsession, too! And my tights were the first pair of colored tights I owned (not counting the pairs when I was a kid). When I studied abroad in college I wanted to get the perfect pair of boots. I didn’t want the fake microsuede that was everywhere at the time. I decided a classic, plain, brown pair would be my best bet. Except I couldn’t find them anywhere. A friend and I decided to take the tube out to Greenwich to see the Greenwich Meantime Museum one day and I found these. I am so glad I did because X amount of years later, they still look great and I get compliments on them. The cost per wear must be down to pennies by now! Souvenirs like that can’t get any better.
Have you ever gotten something on a trip that turned out to be staple for you?
