There is just something about home baked goods that is so much better than store bought. It’s too bad they aren’t as convenient though! I love how tasty this is and that it takes less time to whip up than running to the grocery store. And no dishes to clean up afterwards. I’ve made this a few times and it makes the whole house smell amazing.
1. You need a can of crushed pineapple, can of cherry pie filling, box of yellow cake mix, and a stick of butter. You can use low fat pie filling and margarine if you want. It doesn’t change the taste or anything else about the dish.
2. Press half the cake mix into a greased 9×13 pan.
3. Pour the can of pineapple and juice over top.
4. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over top of pineapple.
5. Then sprinkle the remaining cake mix over top.
6. Slice the butter and lay over top. The butter melts and forms a type of crust with the cake mix.
7. Bake at 350F for 1 hour.
