It’s one thing to get a wish list or buy larger gifts for friends or family, but finding little gifts for people in your life can be tricky. When I think about gifts like this I want to a little thought, but not a lot of money. And if it is a craft, I don’t want to spend a lot of time. This year we decided on mugs and mug cake mix for co-workers, Claire’s teachers, and other people we would like to give little tokens of our appreciation to for the holidays. They were incredibly easy to put together and are festive, cute gifts to give!
I found mugs at an area dollar store, but I am sure you could find them other places as well. I also picked up holiday sandwich bags to place the mix in and a small giftcard to Starbucks to fill the mug with once the cake mix is gone. 🙂
For the mix all you need is:
1 box of angel food cake
1 box of cake mix (I chose devil’s food cake mix-a bit ironic!)
Pour them in a large ziploc bag together and shake until mixed. Add 3/4c. of mix to each sandwich bag and place in mug. 3/4c. of mix should make 4 servings of mug cake. Attach a recipe card for the cake mix and tuck in a gift card if you want. Easy peasy!
Directions for Mug Cake:
3T. Mix
2T. water
Mix in mug and microwave 1 minute. Feel free to stir in chocolate chips, crushed cookies, fruit, or nuts if you’d like and add any kind of topping! Enjoy!
