This past weekend I met up with the Blonde Squad; Jill, Kathrine, Andrea, and Caroline in Chicago. We had so much fun catching up and having a Favorite Things Party! These ladies are such amazing friends and I’m so grateful they are in my life.
Favorite Things Party
Friday when we met up, we did a Favorite Things party. Have you ever heard of a party like this or done one? The gist of it is to choose one or more favorite things and then exchange them. You can choose a spending limit and number of gifts for each attendee to bring. However many gifts you bring, is the amount you will go home with. Gifts can even revolve around a theme such as kitchenware, skincare, etc.
Since there are only 5 of us, we decided to bring a gift for each person so we could all try out each other’s favorite items. The price limit was $20 a person. Honestly, this was so fun for me. It would be easy to go out and buy a pricier gift, but I had to put some thought into how to break down the $20. And I used it down to the last penny!
Here is a break down of what I purchased
- Mini silicone spatula– Perfect for getting the last drop of skincare or makeup
- Bowl hugger– We have two of these and they are so convenient! You put them under a bowl before microwaving it so you don’t burn your hands when taking it out of the microwave. They are washable, too.
- Shower steamers– I prefer showers and steamers are a nice way to make it more luxurious and relaxing. They smell so nice.
- Glass nail file– These never get dull. They do the best job of filing nails. You can even get a foot file to make sure your feet are sandal ready!
- Travel Valet tray– This tray folds up for easy packing, but the corners snap together so you can place your keys, jewelry, and anything else you may need. I find this so useful when traveling. Mine stays in my toiletry bag when not in use.
- Fun pen– I’m not sure why exactly, but I love using purple pens for any writing I do. They are fun, still easy to read, and pretty. I’ve been liking this brand lately.
- Bathbomb- I am not a big fan of baths, but my kids love any kind of bath bomb!
Because amazon sells many of these items in multi-packs I was able to get them for very low amounts. My MIL kindly made the travel valet trays, too.
We stayed at Level Chicago and Andrea had a lounge all set up and decorated with Blonde Squad decor and pink. It was adorable! We each brought a snack to share, too. I made Reese’s Peanut Butter Bars. I have been making them since high school and they are SO good!
