I mentioned yesterday we had one of our nieces visit us over the weekend. A few months back I had given her a few of the things we had made from recipes. She mentioned them while she was here and asked if we could make more. Well of course! I had the September Simply Earth essential oils box just waiting to be opened and made. She had a great time trying out the recipes and using the items. Simply Earth has a future subscriber for sure!
The September Essential Oils box has a theme of Candle Making. I love fall candles and their cozy, warming scents! Here is what the September box has in store.
This month’s September Essential Oil Box contains 2 braided cotton wicks, a wax sachet mold, soy pillar wax and 4 specially curated essential oils. This month’s essential oils are:
- Blood orange- stimulates, cleans
- Cinnamon- uplifts, repels insects
- Coffee- warms, energizes
- Sweet Dreams- relaxes, calms
This month’s recipes are Autumn Days Diffuser Blend, Sweet Memories Roll-On, Ice Cream Candle, Sweet Dreams Floral Candle, Citrus Wax Sachet, and DIY Fall Scented Pinecones.
Autumn Days Diffuser Blend
This fall inspired scent reminds me of a combination of coffee shop and autumn leaves. I love the hint of citrus.
Sweet Memories Roll On
This is a really nice roll on. To me, it feels calming and uplifting.
Sweet Dreams Floral Candle
It was fun to hunt down a few items from nature to include in this candle. We found some leaves and dried hydrangeas to use. The inclusions really make the candle more beautiful. It becomes a decor piece and not just a candle! The scent is so calming , especially at night!
Ice Cream Candle
I love the combination of cinnamon and coffee! I’m not a coffee drinker, but I do like the scent of it. It was a fun idea to make more then a typical hand-poured candle. I didn’t do a great job with the ice cream scoop shape, but I’ll try again next time!
Citrus Wax Sachet
This was by far our favorite recipe this month! It’s so easy and quick to make. It’s a really fun and useful piece, too. We liked adding in the dried orange slices. We made several of these for ourselves and my mom! You could easily alter this recipe to include dried flowers or leaves and different essential oils.
DIY Fall Scented Pinecones
I love the cinnamon scented pinecones you find in stores around this time of year. They add a lovely, cozy scent to your decor. But it does make me a bit worried about what chemicals are used to make them. It didn’t even cross my mind to make my own! We had fun collecting pinecones to make this!
