What a week! I’m feeling some ‘good vibes’ for sure. Early on Sunday morning, Matt and I are leaving for vacation to celebrate our anniversary. If I remember correctly, the last time we took a trip, just the two of us, was in 2014? Thank goodness, his passport arrived yesterday. Just in the nick of time! Then a reporter from CNBC contacted me to be interviewed for an article. How neat is that?! The article was published Tuesday regarding Amazon and Walmart’s push to become more fashion forward. My little blog was linked to on CNBC! Too fun! So of course this Good Vibes graphic tee is totally appropriate for today’s post. After all, I’m feeling all the good vibes lately. This tee was another amazon find and while it’s currently out of stock, I linked to similar ones in the widget below.
In fact, this entire outfit is full of versatile items I plan on wearing to death this summer. Here are some staples you may want to consider if you are like me and plan to squeeze 2 summers’ worth of activities into 2 1/2 months!
Easy Graphic Tees
Graphic tees are a versatile summer item for sure! They can be matched with virtually any type of bottoms like shorts, skirts, or jeans. Add a blazer and heels and you have a fun night out outfit as well. And if you get a boxer, looser fit, then a graphic tee can be worn half tucked, fully tucked, knotted, or loose. I love ‘Good Vibes’ saying of this one and there are many similar options available. It gives me a positive feeling all day long.
Rolled Shorts
I recently received these shorts from Aventura. I’ve tried their shorts before and really like them, but I had a drawstring version. This pair are called the Tara Shorts. They have tabs available to roll them to different lengths depending on your activity or comfort level. I have them rolled shorter and think they are perfect! But if you are traveling and want more options than you have suitcase space, this is a versatile item you need. Because the length of the shorts can be changed by rolling them up or down, they can be paired with a wider variety of tops. Most shorts don’t work well with tunics, but these could when unrolled to their 7 1/2″ inseam.
Packable Hat
I don’t travel like a Real Housewife so I only have 1 suitcase on vacation. Whatever I pack in a suitcase needs to be able to smush and squish a bit. I’d much prefer a more versatile, durable hat like this one for under $20 from amazon. It doesn’t crease and packs really nicely. Not to mention it goes with everything and looks really cute, too!
Cushioned Sandals
I do a lot of walking and spend a lot of time on my feet during the day. And during the summer we tend to be more active as well. So having a cute sandal option that supports your feet is crucial. We all love to show off those pedicures during the summer not to mention that sandals can help keep our feet cooler. But all too often sandals have no cushion. The pink pair I’m wearing have a cushioned footbed and other wedge style sandals I have include arch support and shock absorption. They can dress up an outfit, but feel fabulous on your feet.
Backpack Bag
There are just so many hands-free bag options, the real question is why wouldn’t you want one? I love a good crossbody and even a belt bag every now and then. But this chic cork backpack from JORD is a cut above. It’s such a versatile item that is perfect for summer because you can wear it as a backpack, hold it by the top strap, or even wear it crossbody by doubling up the straps. I love the edgy feel of it, too!
Beach Towels
Invest in summer beach essentials that are versatile and stylish at the same time. Gone are the days when bringing a beach towel is a dreaded act because it was a dull and boring piece of fabric. Nowadays, there’s a wide range of designs and patterns to choose from. Fabrics vary from more sustainable to more water-resistant options but most of these are lightweight and easy to carry.
