I’m not exactly why I thought this would be a great idea for a post. Clearly I didn’t quite think it through. But here we are. One of my most popular posts are for Shein sizing. It doesn’t include anything on swimsuits, but they have so many and amazing prices! So I decided to do a Shein swimsuit review and sizing post.
Honestly I was going to order a few on amazon, but checked Shein first. I was able to get 4 swimsuits AND 2 coverups for under $70 using my 15% off promo code (Q4idodeclaire)! If I had purchased them on amazon, they would have been easily over $100! A few of these in this post, I received a few of these c/o. Here are my thoughts on sizing and the quality on swimsuits from Shein. For reference, I typically wear a size small in most items. I ordered all of these in a size small. I’m 5’5″ and wear a 32D.
$10 coverup
First up is this coverup. I ordered a size small. It is very lightweight and sheer and fits TTS with an oversized fit. It’s a great coverup and worth the $10! It also comes in 2 other colors.
$10 knit coverup
I was surprised when I opened this package and saw how soft the fabric was! It looked far too short at first though. Thankfully it fits better and longer than I thought. I ordered a size small, but you may want to size up if in between sizes. For only $10, this is a great purchase. The quality and softness of the fabric are definitely worth it.
Top-c/o | Bottoms-c/o
I ordered these pieces separately, both in a size small. I absolutely love the criss cross top. It takes a bit extra time to put on, but with the clasp in the back, it isn’t too hard to take off. It’s just so different than other tops which makes it more fun. It fits TTS. The bottoms fit really well and are half lined (front half only) which is on par with other suits at that price level.
$13 push up bikini
I love the retro feel of this bikini! I’ve been drawn to those high waisted bottoms to help hide the mummy tummy. They are lined in the front, but not the back. They fit TTS and have a nice ruching. The top is completely lined and has an underwire. I do wish the fabric portion of the top that wraps around the sides and back had some sort of stiff backing to help it lie more smoothly and provide more support. But for $13 I can’t complain!
$13 Pink Leopard Bikini
How cute is this heart leopard printed pink suit?! I couldn’t resist the flirty feel and really wanted to try it out. The top does fit a little smaller that others so if you are larger up top, you will probably want to size up.
$13 Ruffled Green Bikini
Of all the swimsuits I ordered, this has the highest and cheekiest cut, but still covers enough to be modest. The waist hits just below the belly button on me. The fit does help hide a little extra fluff around your tummy because the elastic band of the bottoms hits at the ruffle and the flat piece of fabric rises above that. The fabric has a really nice texture to it and the entire suit is lined.
$13 Striped Bikini
I also ordered this in a size small. It does fit TTS, but of all the pieces I tried on, this fabric feels the thinnest. But for $13, it is still really cute with the ruffles!
$12 Ruffled Swimsuit
For $12, this swimsuit is SO good! It’s fully lined and can be worn either strapless or with the straps. I really like the underwire push up feature, it has the best support for the girls of all of these choice. And can we talk about the fun ruffles! The fit is slightly on the smaller size so if between sizes, make sure you size up. I also found the straps come off easily when putting it on or taking it off so it may mean you want to reinforce it if you plan on wearing it with straps.
$12 two tone swimsuit
I saved the best for last! This was my favorite (and my husband’s too). I’m in love with it. The bright color and cut-out is really fun. The only downside I feel with this swimsuit is that the padding insert is loose within a larger chest pocket so it moves around and you need to do some positioning each time you put it on. If you are handy you can probably put a little stitch in each one to sew it to the lining so that doesn’t happen. Otherwise it fits really nicely TTS and is fully lined.
Overall thoughts? Shein swimsuits are most definitely worth the price, many feel much better quality than the price you pay. They generally run TTS or a bit smaller. Most are lined at least 50% or more. The pricing is much better than amazon for the same quality and if your purchase is $49 or more, shipping is free.
