I’ll be taking the rest of the week off, but I wanted to share a holiday home tour with you all first! I wouldn’t say I am an expert Christmas decorator in anyway, but I do love the season and my collection seems to grow a bit each year! So welcome into our home, the safe virtual way! Be warned, lots of photos ahead!
Our outdoor decor is fairly similar to last year, but I added extra planters with evergreen branches, a buffalo plaid sign, sled, and new door hanger.
When we first toured this home, I immediately imagined having garlands on the banister for Christmas! I love our staircase!
Immediately to the right of the front door as you walk in is Matt’s office. I have two wreaths on the door, but nothing inside. There really isn’t a point since the doors are always closed, especially when he is working! Haha! I added the chalkboard this year. I’ve been enjoying doing seasonal quotes and scenes on it!
Immediately to the left as you walk in is our dining room. I know many people no longer want a formal dining room, but I do love ours! Hopefully next year we can host Thanksgiving again!
My Christmas napkins were a gift a few years ago from my MIL. She has a sewing machine that does embroidery and each napkin is different! I love putting them out! They brought us the Nativity pyramid from Germany when they visited last year. My parents have a huge one that I loved watching as a child so I’m really happy our family has one now!
We’ve been collecting our nativity pieces for years! It’s almost complete now (unless they come out with more)! Haha!
This is our tiny butler’s pantry! Those trees are made from cereal boxes believe it or not! I think I made them when I was pregnant with Claire and nesting.
This is the basement fireplace. We didn’t decorate it last year, but I purchased a few signs this year for the stone ledges there. Next year we should have a mantle, too! Matt’s uncle is making us one with barn wood from my grandpa’s farms! I’m so excited!
We don’t have much decor upstairs, but I made sure to add a few touches to the hutch in our landing. My MIL divided her snowman collection between my SIL and myself so I made sure to find some fun homes for them all!
This is our kitchen eating area. Yes my MIL made those adorable placemats! Handmade gifts are so special!
This is the view into our kitchen. We keep it fairly simple in here with wreaths on cabinets, a tiered tray, and I did add some decor on my bay window this year.
Some of my plants died so I had to fill the space this year, right?! The cute white houses from Target were perfect. And I had a few other angels I painted white to match. It’s funny Matt always teases me when I buy more Christmas decor, but he is the one making sure I have night time photos and turns on the houses and adorable tree lights each night! (He is a secret Christmas lover!)
I love how the Christmas decorations look now that we have new flooring and paint color in the living room! The red pops so much more!
We keep all of our Christmas cards in Santa’s sleigh!
Our tree is in the sunroom off of our living room. It is currently doubling as Claire’s classroom when she has school, too. She loves having the tree lights on.
And Claire loves to cozy up in the leather chair to listen to lessons and do her work! We have a lovely wooden desk, but she is such a typical kid is prefers the leather chair or floor. Haha!
These two pieces are new. I made the tree and saw the reindeer at Walmart the other day. He just jumped in my cart. I hope to make a few more trees to go with it!
And that is pretty much everything! I hope you enjoyed the home tour. Thank you all for reading. I hope you all have a wonderful, Merry Christmas!
