Treating yourself doesn’t always have to involve
‘things’ or purchasing something for yourself, very often some of the most beautiful treats you can give yourself
require a little bit of love, care, and self indulgence.
The thing about treating yourself is that for
some reason, we put off, save it for a rainy day, and wait. But, why? Why do we put our own self-care so far down on the To-Do list? We’ve only got one life to live, don’t we owe it to ourselves
to treat and pamper ourselves when we can?
It should be a goal to treat yourself every
single day. It doesn’t have to be something big, it can be something small, and
simple – but something that makes you happy.
Here are a few ways you can pamper yourself:
- Head out to your favorite coffee
shop, on the way grab a magazine or a new book, and relax for a few
hours. Silence your phone and be completely unbothered.
- Grab an indulgent set of masks and try them out. There are many traditional facemasks to choose from, but there are eye masks, hair masks, lip masks, foot masks, and hand masks you can try out, too. And it might
sound a little ‘extra,’ but when your hands and feet are baby soft, and
your hair is soft and shiny, you will thank yourself.
- Indulge in some guilty
pleasure music. Pop it on in the kitchen and dance around till your
heart’s content.
- Slow brew a tea or a coffee on a
Sunday morning. Rather than quickly squeezing the tea bag, let it spin and
float and slowly infuse in the water. For the coffee, get a french
press and some rich ground coffee. Let your coffee brew and your pour over
the latest news articles or your friends holiday photos. It’s my favorite thing to sip chai tea every morning while I catch up on blogs or celebrity gossip! It’s an inexpensive way to indulge yourself every day.
- Book yourself in for spa
treatments. Everyone should experience a luxury hair spa treatment at least once in your life! While you’re at it book a facial massage, a shoulder massage and maybe
something a little unusual like a body treatment, too.
- If you are into your bubbles, be
that bath or bottle… Indulge on some luxury bath bubbles, and champagne. Light
some candles, pour a tall, chilled glass of bubbly, and slip into your
luxury bath.
- Book a weekend off of everything, no phone, no computer, no commitments. Binge on your most loved movies or series or find a new one . Just remember to move from
one spot once in a while.
- Take yourself on a date.
Head to your local art gallery and check out their latest exhibitions.
While you’re, there have a slice of cake and a coffee. Linger a little
longer at the art that you love.

- Upgrade your skincare. Not only
should you be buying the best you can afford, but you
should also be keeping an eye on the length of time you’ve had it. Many
times we use creams for so long we forget to replace them at the 6 or
12-month use-by date. If you have been slacking on your skincare, it’s time to
sort it out. Take advantage of cleaning out your old skincare items and treat yourself to a full mini kit of a brand you want to try.
- Head out with
your camera and take some photos. Try your hand at street photography, or
head out on a hike at a nearby state park and see where you end up. You don’t need an
expensive camera for this, your phone camera will work perfectly.
