It’s really important that we treat ourselves every now and then. It makes us feel special. It can brighten your day and put a smile on your face. I love to treat myself. It helps to put me in a positive mindset and feel like I am worth that indulgence. So, how do you indulge yourself? Or better yet, how do you treat yourself when you are on a budget?
Indulgences don’t have to break the bank! You can find ways to treat yourself that are free or cost under $10. We all deserve that indulgence every now and then! By finding low cost ways to treat yourself you can do it even more often! Here are some ways I love to indulge myself.
Try a new drink.
If I am running errands, my favorite way to treat myself and add a burst to my day is pick up one of the Diet Coke® NEW 12oz sleek cans flavors from Walmart. In addition to the great original Diet Coke® flavor, there are now four additional flavors including Diet Coke® Feisty Cherry, Diet Coke® Zesty Blood Orange, Diet Coke® Ginger Lime, and Diet Coke® Twisted Mango. Don’t worry, the original Diet Coke still has the same great taste it has always had, the can just got a bit of a facelift! You can find all the new fruit flavors at Walmart in the soda aisle.
I received a VIP box in the mail to check out the new look and the flavors. I love the new sleek cans and colors! It was fun to try them all. These bold fruit flavors are a wonderful way to take a break from your everyday routine and indulge yourself on a budget! They are available in packs or on-the-go singles which are perfect for experiencing all of the new flavors and deciding which one is your favorite. Personally, I love them all, but Diet Coke Twisted Mango is my favorite! The mango flavor is delicious!
Get a book or magazine.
Buying a magazine or paperback book will only cost you around $5. Or you can head to your local library and pick a few out for free! With a tablet, many libraries have electronic books available to check out that you don’t even need to leave your home for. Getting something new you can enjoy reading is a wonderful way to indulge yourself and escape into a book for an hour or so and it doesn’t even have to cost you anything!
Give yourself a manicure.
I love getting pampered at a salon, but if I don’t want to spend the money, I take a little bit of time to myself and give myself a manicure. I am not talking about just painting your nails. I mean file them, shape them, take care of your cuticles and do a base coat, 2 coats of color, and a top coat. Every time you look at your hands for the next few days, it will make you smile!
Take a scenic walk or hike.
Whether you enjoy company or your solitude, a nice walk or hike can put you in a positive frame of mind. Taking the time to yourself or spend with others outdoors is a wonderful way to indulge yourself without spending a dime! There are many places like public parks, hiking trails, bike paths, or around your neighborhood that you can take a take and treat yourself to some time outside in nature.
