Lace up sandals, lace up flats, lace up heels, lace up tops…it doesn’t matter what type of clothing it is, I have fallen head over heels for the lace up trend! These blue lace up flats from Sammydress were calling my name so I simply needed to snag them! With all the blue in my wardrobe they will go with so much and the bright blue makes a nice statement. I cannot believe how comfortable they are either!
I paired the flats with this adorable shirtdress. Plaid definitely works in the summer when there are lots of lighter colors in it. As the temperatures rise, I rely on dresses for the last few weeks of work to look professional and stay cool. I can even imagine this dress with tights, boots, and a cardigan for fall. It’s helpful to think about multiple seasons when getting new clothing to help make sure it can be worn in different ways. One note about this dress (I ordered a size L for length), the upper half is buttons, the lower half has nothing. It could easily be worn as a tunic top, but I wanted it as a dress so I sewed a quick seam on the bottom half to make sure it stays together! Now it is perfect!

Lately I’ve really been wanting to get a couple rompers for summer (like this green floral one or this navy floralone). They are super easy (hello one piece and done outfit) and there are so many cute options out there now! I remember when they first started trending again there were only strapless or spaghetti strap available, but now there are so many sleeveless and short sleeve ones! Stores are also carrying them in longer length (helpful for those of us that don’t feel quite confident in the super short styles)! This adorable navy romper caught my eye at Sammydress and really liked the classic color, drawstring waist and short sleeves. Unfortunately I accidentally was sent a smaller size (it runs small so size up about 2 sizes) so it didn’t fit. I wanted you all to see how cute it is though so I did an outfit layout for Memorial Day. I wish I had the opportunity to wear this cute romper and not be in old clothes for painting and gardening all weekend! I’m hoping to get a larger size and wear it for July 4th!
