Summer is a whole different ball game (no pun intended) for layering, use of color, and accessorizing. When the heat goes up and the humidity soars, the last thing I want to do is pile on bracelets or wear a heavy statement necklace. No thank you. But I do like to feel pretty and a few accessories help to complete an outfit. Here are 3 accessories perfect for those higher temps:
1. Dainty Necklace
Statement necklaces have their place, but for summer my go-to is a simple, lightweight necklace. These still add polish to even the most casual outfit and don’t weigh you down. My two favorites are a decorative chain or a small pendant necklace. There are some really cute options at F21 for a steal here, here, and here. I love pretty necklaces here, here, and here that are decorative, but without a pendant too like the one I am wearing here.

2. Bold Watch
I don’t care to wear lots of bracelets in the summer, but I do like to wear a bolder watch. It does double duty by telling time (remember, watches don’t just look pretty, they tell time too) and acting as an accessory to compliment your outfit. Personally, I like to wear a wood watch in the summer. They are so lightweight and unique so they make a statement without the need for anything extra. My favorites are this JORD one with a turquoise face (post on 3 ways to wear it) this Uncommon Goods one with a floral wrist band, and this sleek one from Domino.

3. Stacking Rings
The humidity in the summer can make my fingers swell a bit so larger statement rings are not always the most comfortable. Instead, I turn to stacking rings. That way if they start to feel too tight during the day, I can remove a couple and put them away or place them on different fingers. You can add as many rings as you want based on how much of a statement you want or what is comfortable at the time. It’s worth it to me to get real gold or silver because I always forget to take off my rings before washing them and I don’t have to worry about rubbing the metal plating off. Stacking rings in real gold aren’t even that expensive and you can start with one and buy more as you go! There are some nice options from Fresh Trends, most under $50, with many different features to build your own look.
