Moms, does it ever feel like we need to solve everyone’s problems and all at the same time?! We have to be a master of everything and prepared for anything. It doesn’t matter how busy you are, you need to tackle it all. So I have tried to help myself along by keeping a small ‘Mommy Emergency Kit’ in my purse at all times. It isn’t large (we don’t need to tote around the kitchen sink-we carry enough!), but it has those essentials to help fix those day to days problems we all encounter. To make your own Mommy Emergency Kit gather the following supplies:
-small coin purse or make up bag to hold your Emergency Kit
-Travel sewing kit with safety pins
-any medicine you might need
-hand sanitizer
-lip balm
-coverup
-bobby pins
-hair band
-tissue
-bandaid

Most of the items you will only need one or two of. The amounts are not meant to be large because you are creating a kit with items for a one time use and then to be replenished. I keep one dose of pain reliever and allergy meds for my family in a labeled bag. Hand sanitizer is always important before snacks, after who-knows-what, and I’ve even used a little on my neck if I don’t have body spray! Lip balm and a little cover up are all I need in a pinch and lip balm makes a great bribe or reward for kids (#dontjudge #ithappens). A bobby pin or hair band can fix almost any hair issue, especially if you have a daughter! And a tissue can work for runny noses, tears, dabbing cuts or scrapes, and with a little hand sanitizer can work as a wipe in a pinch. Here’s another tip: make sure the bandaid you include is a colored or character one. It helps calm the tears faster and you can even use it as a sticker if needed!
