One thing of the many things I love about where I work is the range of acceptable work wear. We can wear jeans, leggings (not as pants of course), slacks, skirts, and dresses and it is all considered to be the norm. It’s really nice because you can dress down if you have a certain activity you might be sitting on the floor for or a meeting that you need to look a little more professional and not get any side eye for either outfit. I’ll be honest, there are times I like to be a little more dressy for no reason at all!

This week I am a part of some interviews for a speech pathologist for our district so I went a little more dressy. I’ve never had the opportunity before so I erred on the side of more formal than casual. My mom always said you will look less out of place in a slightly more formal outfit than you do in a too casual one. I wasn’t sure what to wear so pulled out my favorite black pencil skirt. The perfect fit always gives me an extra boost of confidence which is nice even if I am not the one being interviewed!
What is your work place attire? Do you have a go-to item for work?
