Some people collect plaid tops, others a specific color. Me? I love my blue floral! See examples 1,2, and 3. So when I saw this dress at SheIn, I knew I couldn’t justify it, but I got it anyway! It’s always nice to have more dress options and the length looked work appropriate. It’s a very lightweight fabric and with the long sleeves it works well for spring into summer. I had a shirtdress, but ended up getting rid of it because the blouse-y fit was not flattering on me.

This one is more fitted so it doesn’t add extra pounds. You might need to size up an additional size (I got a medium for reference) though. Mine was a little more snug in the hips than the model (but what else is new?). I do need to mention the slits. They came up really high on both sides so I ended up sewing them together to give myself a few more inches of covered length. I might sew the pockets closed as well. They are right below the waistline and don’t lay flat on me creating the look of additional inches there. For a few minutes worth of sewing it is exactly what I was looking for to replace my shirtdress (and add to by blue floral obsession)! Sometimes you can’t resist the pull of some items. It happens.
