As a blogger, I have the opportunity to evaluate what types of clothing I wear, how often I wear it, and where it comes from more than most people. When you are taking outfit photos and finding ‘similar’ items for posts you notice trends. I like that I have the opportunity to see where my frequently worn items are from and what types of pieces I wear most. I noticed almost this entire outfit is thrifted which says a lot about my shopping habits. I know that thrifting is good for the environment, but truthfully that positive point is really secondary to my true drive to continue thrifting. I like thrifting because you can get quality for less. The sweater, leather pants, and pumps have all been worn multiple times by me. They were in really great shape when I got them and still are.
I have read other posts about thrifting tips and seen others advise you shouldn’t count on getting basic items while thrifting, but I think that is a fallacy. This sweater and these leather pants are two items I consider to be versatile, classic pieces that won’t be going out of style anytime soon. With clothing sites like thredUP ($10 off code here), Poshmark, and many other online secondhand sites, getting quality, brand name, basic items at a great price is becoming a reality. Another point I really like is that I don’t worry so much if something happens to them. These are not pieces that hide in the back of my closet because I am scared to wear them. With thrifting you get a good price so it isn’t quite as painful when something gets stained, torn, or ruined in another way.

See how I’ve worn this sweater with a red plaid skirt, polka dot button up, turquoise skirt, and green floral skirt.
See how I’ve worn these leather pants with a grey sweater, purple top, and grey wool tunic.
