My 2016 resolution has been to take better care of myself. With all my commitments, I don’t often take time to treat myself. But I am working on changing that by relaxing more and allowing myself little indulgences starting with my skincare routine. I’ve been learning more and more about skincare and how best to take care of my skin as I get older. If I want to put my best face forward, I want my face to look its best!
I start with clean skin. For me, this is the most important step. Clean skin helps diminish the appearance of pores, and prevent breakouts. Clean skin also absorbs serums and moisturizer better. Baking Soda Cleansers help to deep clean and gently exfoliate to leave pores clean, soft, and smooth. Both Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub and Bioré Baking Soda Pore Cleanser are great for combination skin and pH balanced to help achieve smoother, clearer skin without over-scrubbing. I love these products to help me get my skin feeling its cleanest. I found them quite easily at my local Walmart.
I use a Baking Soda Cleanser daily, but when my skin needs a bit of extra smoothing, I indulge it with Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub. It’s a concentrated powder scrub activated with water. All you need to do is add a quarter size amount to your palm then mix with water and it will begin to fizz! The best part is that it is a customizable scrub that allows you to increase or decrease the amount of exfoliation based on how much of the powder used. The clean scent and fizz never fail to help me wake up the the morning! I like to treat myself with a fizzy, carbonated drink every so often, now I feel like I am treating my face!
After cleanser, continue with toner. Then apply eye cream and facial serum. Depending on the time of year, there are different serums available. With my dry skin, I prefer a serum containing hyaluronic acid to help combat dry skin in the winter and in the summer I use a serum with vitamin C and/or retinol. Afterwards apply a moisturizer containing sunscreen. Make sure to wait for each product to dry before applying the next step. Once everything is dry, apply your make up as desired. Masks and scrubs can be used a few times a week as well depending on the needs of your skin. Bioré Baking Soda products are great for combination skin. If you have oily skin try the Bioré Charcoal products instead.
A few extra steps and a good cleansing product like Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub can help you indulge your skin and put your best face forward!
