Life has been rather busy lately with my husband traveling, appointments for the whole family, and scheduling work on our house. It’s been very busy at work lately, too. Combine all that together and it means no social life. Well, unless you count conversations with your 3 year old or asking your husband how his day at work was.
I thought it would be a nice change to relax with my friends at work by hosting an afternoon tea and craft party (or if you like puns as much as I do, a Craft Tea Party!). It was a great way to have fun with friends without the pressure of a work environment. You can’t go wrong with tea, food, and crafts!
To prep for the Tea party, I got a variety of Lipton Teas. One thing I love about tea is the variety available. There is no need to make anything beforehand and no waste afterwards. Just set it out, make sure hot water is available, and that’s it!
I wanted to make sure there were many flavors available so people could try different kinds and pick what they want based on their preference. Lipton’s Green Teas are updated to have a light, fresh taste, bright clearer color and delightful aroma. The Purple Acai Blueberry and Orange Passionfruit Jasmine were fruity and refreshing choices. Lipton’s Black Teas are bold with unique flavors that put a twist on traditional black tea. Amazingly Grey is a classic black tea with a rich flavor. The Irresistible Lady Lipton is a black tea with a delicious citrus flavor. My favorite is the Peach Mango Herbal Tea. It was a hit! Lipton’s Herbal Teas have real ingredients combined with their best herbal tea blends to awaken the senses. The fruity smell of the Peach Mango Herbal Tea made everyone want to try a cup!
I was so excited to pull out my china tea cups and silver. I set up the tea in a beverage bar arrangement with water available on one end and then tea cups, electric kettle, tea selection, spoons, lemon, milk, sugar, honey, and sweetener available. It was easy for guests to get their tea cup and make their tea however they like.
The table held plates and all the food. I decided to serve cucumber sandwiches, spinach artichoke dip, pumpkin bread, lofthouse cookie bars, and layered mint brownies. That way we had a nice mix of savory and sweet options available.
Once everyone finished their food, we moved into the living room to make Valentine’s Day wreaths. They were similar to this that we decorated with fabric and felt flowers (like this, these, or the ones on this belt tutorial). We all had a lovely time and we all agreed it was something we should do again! There is something inherently wonderful about a tea party, crafting, and girl time!
