I pretty much used the trip as an excuse to blow my typical monthly budget out of the water. Since we have been to Dublin quite a few times, I knew I anticipated shopping a lot (and spending a lot) so I made sure to be under budget for the past couple months (February and March).
It was kind of liberating not to have to wait for sales or try and use coupons to get the best deal. I knew I would not be able to come back so I purchased whatever I wanted or caught my eye (while still keeping the item’s versatility in mind). There was some great shopping to be had! It was fun to be able to go to store after store, too. Typically I have a small window of time during Claire’s nap or before Claire gets fussy and wants to go back home.
I have been wanting to add to my colored jeans collection for quite a while. After seeing Old Navy’s Rockstar on thredUP in a size larger than I originally ordered (and subsequently given to my future sister-in-law), I nabbed them and they fit perfectly! The blush colored ones from Banana Republic are perfect for this spring. And I scored a great pair of boyfriend jeans from thredUP as well. I can’t wait to wear them! My biggest purchase were the Birkenstocks. I was so unsure about them we had to go back to the store so I could get them. I just couldn’t decide on the style and color. Even now I wish I had chosen something a little lighter! But they are so, so comfortable you really can’t go too wrong. We even got a pair for my mother-in-law because they were such a deal!
The Cole Haan bag is the only thing I am a little disappointed in. I had hoped for more of a light pink color, and it’s a cross between blush and cognac. It’s still nice, just not what I was expecting. For next month I am really wanting a hot pink bag, a pair of Sperry’s, and a striped maxi skirt (still).
What is on your wish list for May?
*These amounts of each item are approximate, but the total is accurate. I had to estimate the amount in dollars for many of the items since I did so much shopping in Dublin.
