This week Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood and I are styling our colored and patterned tights. Ada kept both her outfits pretty neutral and really let her tights take center stage. That green really pops and looks amazing with her leather skirt. I’m really loving her cozy cardigan, too. For her patterned tights Ada scored an amazing striped pair (can you say jealous?!) They compliment her sweater dress and add loads of interest to her outfit. Her colored necklace really helps bring everything together. With colored tights, I like to keep my outfit fairly neutral as well. Tights are a great way to add fun color to an outfit. With this outfit, I added a coordinating belt to help balance the outfit out. There really isn’t a need to do this when there are bright colors or patterns, but with this outfit, the belt is an improvement and breaks up the dark colors.

This outfit is kind of a combination of this pin and this pin. I had been wanting to wear something like this for a while, but this skirt had been in my altering pile for a while. I had to take it in and I shortened it a good 4 inches. I like skirts to fall just above my knee. This time I added patterned tights to mix it up. Because I had color with my scarf and print with the top, the tights again help to balance it out. Colored tights would have competed with it all. The pattern adds interest, but the black still goes with the palette of the outfit.
