Even though maxi dresses and skirts cover your entire leg, I still seem to have firmly pigeonholed them as ‘for warm weather’ in my head. That is, until I saw this dark floral pleated maxi skirt! Between the floral print, colors, elastic waist (so comfortable to wear), and the pleats, I was in love! It definitely runs long so I wore it with heeled boots (keep in mind I’m 5’5″) so if you are taller this should work. It runs TTS. I wish I could show the movement of this skirt! It is so pretty as you walk and I think makes me look much taller! For photos I paired this skirt with a soft grey sweater with lace sleeves, but I actually ended up wearing it with a black top and cognac moto jacket to church a couple of weekends ago. With all the colors in the print I think there are many possibilities. A darker color or print like this works really well with booties, specifically those with a pointed toe. You can add tights underneath for warmth, too. Hopefully this gorgeous skirt gets me out of my close-mindedness about maxi length items in colder weather!
What items do you pigeonhole?
