School just started a few weeks ago and we are right back into the swing of things. Summer already feels like a distant memory! As a runner, I used to think of sneakers only as footwear for working out. But over the past few years I’ve changed my views on the matter. With the athleisure trend that is not going anywhere anytime soon, sneakers are the perfect way to add a casual, athletic vibe to your outfit. They can be worn with so many different types of outfits like leggings, denim, skirts, and dresses. And can we talk about comfort? I love me some heels, but they are nothing compared to a pair of cute sneakers! When I choose sneakers for outfits outside of the gym, I look for certain aspects. Personally, I don’t care for the shoes designed specifically for running or walking, etc. They have their place and I wear them, but only for the running trail or the gym! Sneakers that are sleeker with a lower profile sole and a sleeker style are more up my alley for every day wear! With a slimmer style and often more neutral colors, I find they look more purposeful and less like an afterthought. But that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have support! Sneakers with arch support and shock absorption is very important! Especially for me since I wear orthopedic inserts in my running shoes. In my everyday shoes I like to have that extra support, too! It makes them so much more comfortable and can really save your feet when you are standing all day.
These sneakers by Taos footwear check all those boxes! They have many neutral shades in their Star sneaker style and other fun shades, too for when you want an extra pop of color. They kindly provided me with this pair to try out and wear and I’m really enjoying them! They go with everything and are beyond comfortable to wear. There is a nice cushion on the back of the heel and the arch support makes my feet happy all day. On a typical day, I log in over 15,000 steps so that is important to me. The darker color means no worrying about keeping them clean, too! And as a mom that is one huge plus! Haha! I paired them with white denim for a transitional fall outfit and some camo. You know I’ve been loving camo lately! It would be fun to pair them with a girly blush color skirt or some lace, too. Contrasting feminine/masculine pieces or light/dark always make a big impact. The darker color will make them even easier to wear into fall!
